WKSU in Northeast Ohio reports that the Ohio EPA has reached a deal to settle 70 violations the state lodged against the operator of Kimble Landfill in northern Tuscawaras County, one of Northeast Ohio’s massive landfills. It includes a fine of nearly $55,000 with Penn-Ohio Coal Company. The article states that among the violations over four years was that the landfill failed to stop methane leaks and runoff, did not cover waste properly, and did not control odor.
