Recent studies have shown that while the amount of pollution nationally has gone down, from 1990 to 2007, New Jersey's pollution had actually increased 16% and ranks 16th nationwide for the highest levels of pollution. In 2007, New Jersey had the largest number of EPA Superfund sites in the country.

One organization which is trying to bring attention to the pollution problems in New Jersey is GreenFaith. According to the mission statement on its website, GreenFaith inspires, educates and mobilizes people of diverse religious backgrounds for environmental leadership. One way they are doing this is through an Environmental Justice bus tour that will be on Sunday, February 28 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants will tour sites in and around Newark New Jersey, showing how pollution affects lower income neighborhoods in Newark and in other large, older cities.

I do represent hundreds of similarly situated people around the country in environmental litigation cases. To find out if The Simon Law Firm can help with a landfill or other environmental litigation case, contact Todd Hageman.
