Wistv.com is reporting that a pool of water that formed in a nearby landfill caused a worrisome odor for many residents of Lexington County, South Carolina. DHEC, the Department of Health and Environmental Control, was called in to investigate and they are trying to stem the odor. Their plan is to bring in clay matter to cap the pool, which they hope will beat the odor. That capping was supposed to have taken place by the end of the day Thursday, July 25th and DHEC officials planned to return and take samples on Friday. The odor concerned a great deal of nearby residents, and one of them called the Lexington Fire Department to report it.
