Fredericksburg.com is reporting that even the King George County, Virginia Supervisor is acknowledging resident complaints about the "significant odor issue at the landfill." Residents are complaining that the odors are noticeable as far as three miles from the landfill. The owner of the landfill is Waste Management, Inc. According to a Washington Post investigative report that appeared on November 12, 1998, Virginia was the biggest importer of trash from out-of-state, taking advantage of still-available rural land. One of the biggest "mega-fills" is the King George County landfill.
