We had previously blogged that elevated levels of cancer-causing pesticides were found in numerous wells used by residents. The pesticides came from a nearby landfill.

The Stamford Advocate is reporting that residents recently met to discuss the contamination and the need for further testing.

Concerned residents have formed a group called North Stamford Concerned Citizens for the Environment, whose mission is to ensure clean, safe drinking water for all residents in our community in a cost-efficient, prompt and thorough manner, and to act as a "watchdog" and help to identify the source or sources of groundwater contamination via historical research and scientific examination and testing, and to use every available technology to remediate the problem.
