The Los Angeles Times indicates that more than 100 deaths have been associated with sudden acceleration problems from Toyota vehicles. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration records, lawsuits and police reports, sudden acceleration could have caused 102 deaths from crashes involving Toyota vehicles. Department of Transportation spokeswoman Olivia Alair said NHTSA officials review every complaint and “take reports of injuries and deaths extremely seriously.
