Fredericksburg.com is reporting that a compliance engineer with the Virginia DEQ has been keeping residents appraised of the developments in the odor issues at the King George Landfill. In his most recent e-mail to residents, he informed them that Waste Management is in the process of capping the problem areas of the landfill, but the process to do so will cause more odors than if the landfill were left alone.

We have been blogging about this landfill for some time. The source of the hydrogen sulfide odors has been linked to coal ash. Since the landfill learned that was the source of the odors back in August, they have stopped accepting the waste.

We do not represent anyone at the King George County, Virginia site. However, we represent hundreds of similarly situated people in the United States in various landfill and environmental litigation.
