Despite landfill fire, owners of Rumpke landfill in Colerain Township, Ohio Expand

Ohio Citizen Action reports that the owners of Rumpke Sanitary Landfill would like to expand by 350 acres. Currently the site is 509 acres, after expanding by 95 acres in 2004. We had previously blogged that in the beginning of April, residents met with environmental officials regarding the ongoing landfill odors plaguing residents, and fires underneath the landfill.

Ohio Citizen also featured letters and drawings showing what the children living near the landfill think of the situation.

We will keep an eye on this for developments. While we do not represent anyone who lives near the Rumpke Sanitary Landfill site, we represent hundreds of similarly situated people in the United States in various landfill pollution litigation.
