The Knoxville News Sentinel published a report concerning a coal trucking accident. The truck driver was killed in an October accident while driving an overloaded coal truck with a defective Jake brake switch, says a federal report. According to a probe, “the contractor and mine operator failed to assure that defects affecting safety were corrected before the truck was put in service.”
