Back in July, we blogged about the APAC-Kansas Landfill near the intersection of US 69 and 167th Street. A couple years ago, the 6,000 residents who live near the landfill were dealing with the rotten egg smell that comes from hydrogen sulfide. The owner of the landfill, APAC, was negotiating with the city to expand the landfill. According to the Kansas City Sun The City Council is recommending that the landfill be closed by December 31, 2010. The Kansas DHE will ultimately have to make that decision.
While I do not currently represent anyone at this site, I do represent hundreds of similarly situated people around the country in various landfill and environmental litigation.
