Bridgeton Sanitary Landfill odors may not be a health threat, but still a nuisance

The Post Dispatch reported that the Missouri Department of Natural Resources quietly released a summary of the recent testing done that showed that none of the air quality levels tested (carbon monoxide, volitile organic compounds and hydrogen sulfide) showed levels high enough for health concerns. Residents have been complaining about the odors from the Bridgeton Sanitary Landfill, located next to the West Lake Landfill for quite some time. Just because the air quality does not pose a health concern does not mean that residents do not have a private nuisance claim. Residents have the right to enjoy their homes without having the experience noxious odors from a landfill.
