According to the Citizen-Times, the EPA has scheduled a public meeting for Jan. 31 to update Asheville, N.C. residents on recent sampling at the former CTS of Asheville plant. Over the summer, groundwater and soil testing found contamination, which prompted extra testing to determine the extent. An earlier article from the Mountain Express reported that significant levels of the industrial solvent trichloroethylene, also known as TCE, were detected at the abandoned facility. We will keep an eye on this developing story. While I do not currently represent anyone involved with this site, I do represent hundreds of similarly situated people around the country in various landfill and other environmental litigation cases.
