    Rochester Homepage is reporting that the Town of Penfield is demanding that the New York DEC take action against Baker Commodities, which owns a rendering plant that collects and recycles road kill.     KHOU is reporting that federal and state authorities are cleaning up a leak from the CES Waste Disposal plant that has been plaguing the neighborhood with a "foul, nauseating, chemical like smell."   • Rolling Hills C&D Landfill in Pensacola, Florida will remain open while cited

    The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that the FDEP recently cited and revoked the permit of the landfill in the Wedgewood neighborhood for violating state environmental laws, including failing to contain objectionable odors. Residents have been complaining about the odors for years.

  • Glacier Ridge Landfill nuisance in Mayville, Wisconsin

    We previously blogged about the noxious odors that residents are suffering that could be coming from the Advanced Disposal landfill. The Beaver Dam Daily Citizen reported that the odor could be methane. We believe the odor could be a different gas because methane is typically odorless. In any event, residents have the right to enjoy their property free from noxious offsite odors.

  • "Public nuisance" odor disturbing Missoula, Montana residents

    The Missoulian is reporting that since May 30, the local Health Department has received more than 30 complaints of an odor coming from railroad tracks. Enough complaints that the Health Department is declaring it a public nuisance.
